I get the drill now. The shirt-cutting/shirt-opening moment is deemed the most boring, a thing none of the audience really wants to see. And thus it's time for the editor to cut away to people talking in the other room. I see this done in many movies and shows from Casualty to ER, and also in this movie clip, it's like a formula. For me, it's ruining the tension, the drama of the moment, as a procedure is underway and we're thrown somewhere else momentarily, and then hurled back to the place of action. I just hate jump cuts.
