More AED Training
More AED Training
CPR and AED training video on a child who has collapsed.
Another nice one. Thanks, Johnny. Although, just like the last one, it's kinda weird how it demonstrates the AED pads placement on a manikin when there's already a real human being used to act out the victim role.
Once again a sad video... Not showing much cpr on a real child and a defib part... The whole point in a training video is to show what happens. They did do cpr but the angle was crap....
Yes, I know what you mean, bad angle with the rescuer blocking our sight of the victim. I know why, it's because they're obscuring the compression, because the rescuer isn't doing compression with the actual depth, for fear of breaking the kid's ribs.
Of course they can't do it properly on a child that doesn't need it but is hiding the fact they are only doing light compressions really needed? It's a training video on a real person about what to do in a real emergency. Obviously what we see is going to have to be adapted to keep the child safe. Seeing compressions of any sort on a real person will help in real life.
Clearly a number of weird decisions made by the makers of this video: blocking the compression scene, not acting out the defibrillation, placing the pads on a manikin instead of the real boy - but on the other hand showing an extreme closeup of the boy's chest to demonstrate wiping it with alcohol wipes. They did go through the trouble of cutting and destroying a shirt, showing seriousness in giving a realistic demonstration, but then the rest of the demonstration isn't really there. Personally I'm not crazy about a reversed shot, either (with the boy's head in the bottom of the screen) - gives me headache. The video posted before this one also shows decisions made by the filmmakers that I wouldn't agree with. But at least I'm glad there are still these two videos using a real human as the victim as they are becoming rare. Most CPR - AED videos I find now use manikins.
Another nice one. Thanks, Johnny.

DeleteAgreed. It was good that they cut the shirt and used a real human.
