This show is not bad, quite well-made. Just bad angles during the shirt-cutting, and then during the defibrillation, the EMS hovers over the patient's body to push the AED's button. Weird. Shouldn't they stand clear from the body when shocking? PEDS RN, what do you say?
ReplyDeleteIt is not exactly the way that I would teach how to use an AED. I would teach it so that the AED is on the side of the patient closest to the rescuer who is going to be pressing the shock button. But as long as you are not touching the patient during the rhythm analysis or the shock, it can be done as seen here.
DeleteWhat about the AED pads placement? Shouldn't one be higher on the chest and the other one lower (as usually pictured on the pads themselves) so they sandwich the heart?
DeleteGood catch. You are correct. Somehow I missed that. 🤦🏻♀️ Yes they should be placed as you would for adult pads, or one pad on their chest and the other on their back.
