CPR and AED Demonstration on a Child
CPR and AED Demonstration on a Child
This is a demonstration of CPR and AED use on a child.
A professionally done video! Thanks! Upon closer inspection, the left pad is placed too low and too close to the right pad. They should've cut/rip the shirt open completely so they can put the left pad above the left nipple instead of closer to the belly like in this video.
Those are adult pads. The child was said to be 9 years old, so actually adult pads are appropriate. That’s right above the age where pediatric pads could be used… up to 8 years old, approximately 55 pounds. Either would be ok, but adult pads would be “better.”
The left pad would not go above the childs left nipple, although you’re right it looks to be a little bit low on the rib cage, but not by much. The right pad looked to be placed a bit on top of his shirt, so cutting it off or moving it more would have been better. Also, there is enough space between the pads, although it could/ would be better to use anterior/posterior (chest/back) placement.
How did you find this?
