CPR on a Drowning Boy
CPR on a Drowning Boy
A tutorial showing how to do CPR on drowning children. Watch/Download: Click Here!
This is really close to being accurate. The rescuer did the “old way” of feeling up the ribs to where they meet the breastbone (sternum). He did that properly, but then he placed his hands in the wrong spot. They are just a bit too low on the chest, definitely compressing on the xiphoid process, which you want to avoid during CPR because you risk an injury to the diaphragm and/or liver (and rarely, the stomach and/or spleen).
Hi, do you want to use a nickname for a Name/URL? Because apparently there are multiple Anonymouses here, and it'd be good if we know it's you, without you having to tell us every time that you're the nurse/EMT one, since you always have interesting/insightful comments to share. Can be something simple like "EMT" or "ER Nurse" or whatever.
Those are some serious closeups! Awesome find. And it's from a channel containing similar drowning rescue videos. Curiously, they all have no audio.
ReplyDeleteFrom what channel?
ReplyDeleteThe YouTube channel is called "403 forbidden". The link is provided by the other Anonymous in the post before this (ER).

ReplyDeleteBy the way, I’m a pediatric emergency room nurse and EMT, so I have a lot of expertise in resuscitation.

DeleteI guess I should use a nickname/screen name. I’ll try to remember to do that from now on.
